Napoleon Dynamit is about the life of the student Napoleon Dynamite (John Heder), who lives with his 32-year old brother Kip (Derek Ruell) and the llama Tina at his grandmothers house. After his grandmother got injured, his uncle Rico comes to look after Napoleon and Kip. While Napoleon is making two new friends and trying to find a date for the school dance, Rico and Kip are trying to make money with selling items at the door.
Because Napoleon Dynamite is with a budget of 400000$ budget a low budget film there are no special effects or very big shots. Everything is filmed more easy, which makes the camera work more simplistic, but it doesn't affect the quality of this movie. After so many movies, which have all the different camera shots from all different angles, I really enjoyed a movie, which is not like the rest.
Beside the fact that the camera work is very simplistic, there is not a real soundtrack for Napoleon Dynamite. The reason for this is propably again the low budget.
As a key scene I picked the door scene, when Deb (Tina Majorino) meets Napoleon for the first time.
They have a awkward conversation, when Deb tries to sell wristbands. After she said that she is selling them to earn money for college, you hear Napoleons brother Kip from inside the house saying "Your mom goes to college" whereupon Deb runs away.
Like I already said, the camera work is very simplistic, which you can also see in the door scene. The camera is filming only from four different viewpoints but all in low angles; it is filming the TV, Kip, Deb and Napoleon.
In conclusion I give this movie 8 out of 10 possible points, because it is fun to watch and the acting was good for each character, but in my opinion this movie is not good enough to get all points.
